ZZZZZ! (INSTRU-MENTAL)

about

This “recording” was taken to Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle and transferred to cassette by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen “Jolly Green Giant” of “Louie, Louie” fame, The Sonics “Psycho”, The Frantics “Werewolf”, and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape.
It was originally recorded from my two track stereo which could also play records. I'm a record collector and the record I did this to was broken and scratched, so before getting rid of it, I made a sample of this and said it was “my song” as kind of a joke. I've done long avant-garde free form jams and some things short and simple. I have another “tune” much like this that's only a few seconds long. This can qualify more as a sample than anything else. And yes, Kearney would record, transfer, clean up, and mix anything you threw at him.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
The joke is in listening to this little piece of ****. In truth, this was my second attempt at avant-garde. The first one was “The Ending Revolution (avant-garde song)” and that was a bit lengthy. I followed that with this, which is only a couple seconds long. I did it as a joke, but now it's song/recording #39. The joke is mostly in the title.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
