YOU'RE MY MARY JANE demo

from RAW SKELETONS (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

/

about

Originally titled, “Sorry, Dear Mary Jane” this demo has never seen the light of day until now. This particular version is the demo made at The CELL BLOCK Studio just before going into Mirror Sound Studio in Shoreline, WA. to make the final recording. It was recorded on a cheap cassette tape using a 4 track mixer. We performed the song live in one take. It was just basically a practice rehearsal before we recorded it for real later.
You can find the “final” version of this song on our CD album called TOUCH OF FANTASY at www.cdbaby.com/cd/ricecrackerproject
Though this is song #264 of songs written by me, this demo version that I dug up will be recording #499. This song is not exactly about drugs, though it is about addiction. We all have our own addictions, so it could be to whatever pertains to you, such as food, sex, drugs, rock and roll, etc.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

Mary Jane, Mary Jane
You're Back Again, Living In Sin.
Mary Jane, Sweet Young Mary Jane.
Flying High, Above The Velvet Sky.
Dear Mary Jane. What's New Mary Jane?

Now That I've Found You, What Do I Do?
We're All Alone Chile......

Mary Jane, Insane Mary Jane.
Smoking Health, Spending Wealth.
My Mary Jane, Dying Mary Jane.
Got So Stoned, Chilled Through The Bone.
Oh Mary Jane. Help Me Mary Jane.
(Solo)
You're Mary Jane, The Same Mary Jane

Now That You're Dead, What Should I've Said?
We're All Alone Chile......

Mary Jane, Mary Jane, Mary Jane, Etc./Out

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
