about

Here’s another original song I wrote, performed, and engineered on my own. I started experimenting with certain techniques that “real” engineers do on a daily basis. For me, it’s something new and fun. For the drums, I used 3 microphones for the snare instead of the usual one. I had one on top (which I usually do), one on the side, and the other one on the bottom. For the acoustic guitar, I used two microphones instead of the usual one as well. It took a little more creativity, but I found a happy medium.
This song was written when I was around 16-17 years old. It’s about a love gone wrong, something I was to experience a few times later in life. I recently rewrote the first line to make the song ambiguous in the beginning. Now it seems like, at the start of the song, that if I left, I may be back sooner than not. But in truth, the story continues where I am the one leaving the relationship. Even though I’m determined to move on, I acknowledge that it is difficult. When one is in love, does one really fall out of love? Can love itself be so cynical and ambiguous? These were the questions I was asking myself. This is, yet again, not exactly a “happy” tune, but the beat of the song and the basic raw feeling of it was something I always liked.
This is the 102nd song I wrote.

lyrics

You Think I’ve Left And You Think I’m Gone
But If I Left You Girl, It Won’t Be Long.
I Think I’m Right But You Think I’m Wrong
For You’re The Only Girl To Lead Me On.

I Think It’s Over And I Think It’s Bad
To Keep On Going After All We’ve Had.
You Think It’s Great Not To See Your Fate
But I Can Tell You Now, It’s Much Too Late.

You Say And You Feel The Love That Is Real,
Yet You Were The One That Kept Me From Dying.

I Think It’s Right But You Think It’s Wrong
To Keep On Going Now After Love Is Gone.
I Hope You Leave And Stay Away
‘Cause I Hate Your Lies You Always Say.

It’s Over And It’s True That We Are Through.
I Will Never See You Again. Now I’ve Lost My Only Friend.

I Thought You Cared And I Thought You’d See
That You’re The Only Girl Who Really Loved Me.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
