WORDS: PRELUDE TO MELISSA

from RAW SKELETONS (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

/

about

This was the first take of the poem I wrote entitled, “Words: Prelude To Melissa.” The title slightly changed later to “Prelude to 'Melissa Tell Me': Only Words” This first take was a bit rushed and I spoke it as if I were talking and not reading poetry. I decided the second take was the keeper.
This is recording #560.

Recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle, WA.

lyrics

The Most Beautiful Words I Can Possibly Say
To You, Melissa, I Love You Each Day.
And On The Morrow, I’ll Love You More,
Because That Is What My Love Is For.
The Most Elegant Words I Can Possibly Write
Is To Tell You, My Darling, On This Glorious Night,
I Propose To You A United Bliss,
As I Press To You Softly, A Gentle Kiss.
The Only Words I Can Possibly Tell,
Is In Love With You That I Have Fell.
And To You, I Whisper, “Melissa, My Dear,
Together Forever, There’s Nothing To Fear.”

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
