WISHING, WAITING, BUT KNOWING

about

This is another attempt by me writing a slow song, since most of my songs up to this point, were all pretty much fast tunes. I tried to use minor chords and doing slightly different progressions than what I was used to, and throwing in a little riff through-out the tune, giving it a different feeling than other songs I had written up until that point. The song is okay. The story is about as basic as it gets and I wasn't trying to write an anthem or anything. I like the idea of the song more than the actual execution of the end result. I was about 15 years old when I wrote this, and the song hasn't changed much from then until now. I know The Beatles, “Ask Me Why” and some songs by Roy Orbison inspired this tune.
This is song #33.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

She's A Girl That's Not So Shy; Her Eyes Of Blue.
I Love Her And I Don't Know Why. Love Is New.
I Sit Here Crying. I Can't Go Denying.
She Came To Me, Wishing We Would Be Together.

Then I Wake To Find Myself Waiting All Alone.
My Dreams All Are Gone Now. I Should Have Known.
It Was All Unreal. Can't Love Or Feel!
She Lied To Me. Our Love Won't Be Alive.

I'm Wishing (Wishing), Waiting (Waiting), But Knowing
That She (She), Will (Will) Be Going.
And Loving (Loving), Having (Having), And Holding
Is What I Want To Be Doing.

She's A Girl That's Not So Shy; Her Eyes Of Blue.
I Love Her And I Don't Know Why. Love Is Blue.
I Sit Here Crying. I Can't Go On Lying Forever.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
