about

It was totally experimental. I overdubbed sounds using mostly my voice, adding echo, reverb and so on. My voice had changed a couple years prior after puberty and I was always fascinated on what kind of sounds people's voices, in general, could produce. So, hence this experiment on using my voice as the only instrument/noise maker. I think there are a few other special effects like feedback, etc., but it's pretty much just me making noises with my throat. Though most of my avant-garde stuff is just noise for the sake of noise or experimentation, this “tune” actually was quite interesting to me and is still somewhat fun to listen to, since I can't believe I was able to make some of those sounds in my late teens. I used a two track recorder to capture the sounds. I did two takes, filling both tracks separately.
I transferred from a MAXELL UR90 IEC I/Type I Normal bias cassette tape onto the Audacity music editor software from a Denon DRM-700, 3 head stereo cassette tape deck.
This is song #198.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
