TRUE, FAITHFUL, AND KIND

from FROM NOWHERE (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

/

about

This song was originally written around 1959-1960 by Jake Cordova and Clinton Brown (my father.) He introduced me to the song in 1984 and I helped finish the arrangement with him. Then, on August 1st, 2012, I changed one line in it from “Dry your eyes, get away from me” to “Dry your eyes, stay away from me” on the last verse. Soon afterward, I performed and recorded it. My father has written and/or co-written 5 songs and, after all these years, I've finally recorded all of them.
Though this song was originally written in the late 50's (circa 1959), the finished version wasn't made until around 1984, then on August 1, 2012, I made the final changes and recorded it. This is song #7.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

You Want A Love That’s True, Faithful And Kind.
You Want A Love From Me All The Time,
But In Return All You Give Me Is Your Heartache And Pain.
You Cause My Tears To Fall Like Rain.
Well I’m Through, Through With You.

Well You’re Always Goin’ Out And Datin’ Other Boys.
You Treat Our Love Like A Broken Down Toy.
Well I’m Sick And Tired Of The Way You Treat Me.
We’re Done, We’re Finished, Can’t You See
That I’m Through, Through With You?

Well You Caused Such Pain In This Heart Of Mine.
I Thought I’d Die Oh So Many Times.
You Know I Love You Baby, I Really Do.
But There’s Just Some Things A Guy’s Gotta Do So,

Now It’s Time To Say Good-Bye.
Don’t Say You’re Sorry, You Know It’s A Lie.
Dry Your Eyes Get Away From Me.
We’re Done, We’re Finished, Can’t You See
That I’m Through, Through With You?
(Solo)
Well You Caused Such Pain In This Heart Of Mine.
I Thought I’d Die Oh So Many Times.
You Know I Love You Baby, I Really Do.
But There’s Just Some Things A Guy’s Gotta Do So,

Now It’s Time To Say Good-Bye.
Don’t Say You’re Sorry, You Know It’s A Lie.
Dry Your Eyes Stay Away From Me.
We’re Done, We’re Finished, Can’t You See
That I’m Through, Through With You; That I’m Through, Through With You;
That I’m Through, Woo, Through With You?

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
