about

This song was mixed at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen “Jolly Green Giant” of “Louie, Louie” fame, The Sonics “Psycho”, The Frantics “Werewolf”, and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape.
This was originally recorded on my old two track stereo system (which I no longer have.) I went to Audio Recording, Inc. and had Kearney put it in cassette form and mixed it. I remixed it in my home studio about 24 years later. This particular guitar instrumental was meant to be performed on the electric guitar, though I think an acoustic would make a nice version of this as well.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
*NOTE: This song was originally released as a special edition EP called “Sleeping in Dreams” by The Santairs (IM-704) with original copyright 1990.

This is the 168th song I wrote, probably written in 1986. I didn't have very many songs that featured just the guitar, so I wrote this one. I actually started this song as a finger exercise to warm up before playing. Before I knew it, I had specific parts and it became its own tune. I wanted it to sound a bit like Richie Valens performing Malaguena, with just an electric guitar. I think Sean Crain came up with the title.

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
