I consider this song one of my first “dark” tunes, even though, by comparison of some of the things I've written not so long ago, this is very tame. Even though some of the secondary verses are upbeat and happy in general feel, the main verses are in minor keys and feels darker. The story was pretty much what I wrote years ago, except I updated a few lines to reflect more of what has taken place to me just recently. This is the first song I recorded using all new equipment in the music studio that was left unused for nearly half a year. And this song also reflects what was happening to me within my second marriage. The lyrics of the story has pretty much become reality in my life. Again, I only changed two lines, so this is pretty much the same song I wrote back when I was 16 years old. Who would have thought, 30 years later, it would become a true story for myself. I think I needed to record this song to start the healing process of what is bound to be a truly difficult path ahead of me. At least, I have an outlet that many people do not.
