THE FENDER BENDER BEGIN SONG

from EXCREMENT HITS THE OSCILLATOR (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

/

about

In truth, it was one of the first actual recordings I ever made of me playing an instrument, testing the two track stereo system I had for the first time while playing mostly on a 1963 Fender Jazzmaster through a Fender amp (forget the model number, etc.) It was recorded before I wrote my first actual song called, "I'm So Lonely." You'll also hear riffs I used in there that became DON'T LET ME, the second real song I wrote. I was 15 years old at the time, only had been playing guitar for a couple months, teaching myself the ropes of how to record basic noises and playing the guitar too. I kept the glorious tape hiss totally in tacked. I didn't add any special effects to it. The ending was just a record played backwards for a few seconds. It is what it is; an avant-garde song with no intentions of seeing the light of day, until I decided to forever put it in digital form and send it through the airwaves. The ending to this “song” is a bunch of records I had around and I manipulated the speed by hand on a record player, something that I used to do hours on end as a kid.
This song was transferred onto the Audacity music editor program from cassette tape using a Denon DRM-700 3 head cassette deck with silent mechanism onto digital form. This is song #227.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
