This was one of my earlier attempts at songwriting. It's probably the closest I'll get to Doo Wop. I came up with the title first, trying to write a song around it. The main story hasn't changed much since I wrote it way back when, except I added a couple new lines and rearranged a word or two here and there. It's still a very basic tune lyrically and musically. I was also thinking how The Beatles would write a song using this particular title, and this is what I came up with.
This is song #31.
Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.
lyrics
Just Walking In The Rain, Not Worryin' About A Thing.
The Loved Ones You Love, And The Skies Up Above,
And All I've Gotta Do Is To Take A Look At You,
Knowing That You Are True, That's All You Had To Do.
Just Sitting Near The Bay, And Going All The Way.
As We're People Watching, Like The Fools Like Me.
But What I Never Knew Is What You Would Do,
And Of All Those Clues, The Affairs I Knew:
When I Was On My Own, Just Bein' All Alone,
Hopin' You Would Be Here Along Beside Me.
Now I'm All Alone. I Should Have Known,
That You're Not For Me, And Now I Can See
That When You Left, You Put Me Through The Test.
When You Failed The Rest, I Had Lost The Best.
When I Was On My Own, Just Bein' All Alone,
Hopin' You Would Be Here Alone Beside Me.
Now I'm All Alone, I Should Have Known.
That You're Not For Me, And Now I Can See
That When You Left, I Had Lost The Best,
When I Failed The Rest, You Lost The Test.
Oh Ho, That's All You Had To Do, Aha,
That's All You Had To Do, Aha, Oh Ho, Oh Yea,
That's All You Had To Do.
I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I
could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs....more
I've jammed with this guy and have heard this band live. They play with all their soul and it shows--you can hear it as well as feel the music. The Santairs
