TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME

about

This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen “Jolly Green Giant” of “Louie, Louie” fame, The Sonics “Psycho”, The Frantics “Werewolf”, and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape. This is one of the first drumming parts I did in the studio where I was able to keep the take. I was just learning how to play them, and even to this day, I’ve never had a lesson and don’t consider myself a drummer. We put the heavy tambourine to reflect what many of the groups during the British Invasion did during the 60’s. Overall, it’s an acceptable tune and very dance-able which is what we were going for. Sean Crain and Wayde Brown (me) performed all the instruments and vocals. Sean was never truly a backing singer, but he helped out whenever he could and I always appreciated him for the effort. To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
This is one of the last completed songs I wrote with my friend Sean Crain. We wrote it directly after the song “Desire.” He had the piano part worked out and I basically wrote the rest. We were inspired by the British Invasion groups that we were listening to back then in the early 90’s. This is song #385 that I wrote/co-wrote. This is also one of the only songs where another artist covered one of our original tunes.

Recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle, WA.

lyrics

Tell Me That You Love Me. Tell Me That You Care.
Please Don’t Ever Leave Me. My Love Is Always There.
And I Can Show You Where.

What Is That You’re Sayin’? I Am So Confused.
My Heart Feels Though It’s Empty, Beaten And Abused.
And Now There Seems No Use.

All My Life, I’ve Been Waitin’
For A Girl Just Like You To Take Me Away.
I’ve Been Dreamin’ And Believin’
The False Hopes I Dream Every Day.
(Solo)
Every Time I Need You, You Turn And Walk Away,
Leave Me On My Own With Nothing Else To Say,
So Here, Alone, I’ll Stay.

I’m So Lonely, And I’m Here Only
To Listen To The Sound Of My Aching Heart.
I Wish You’d Hold Me, Instead You Told Me
That Your Life Wasn’t Fulfilled From The Very Start.

Tell Me That You Love Me Just For One More Time.
All I’ll Say Is Sorry, With Memories Left Behind.
And I Wish That Again You’ll Be Mine.

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
