This song started as a poem written by one of my best friends, Jennifer. She handed me the lyrics and gave me a blank slate to write a melody and music to it. This is what I came up with. It's a bit of a country tune, which is so strange since I don't write nor perform many country songs (in general), and I know it wasn't something Jennifer listened to all that much. I did find it odd that this song seemed to "want" to be a country tune.
This is song #203.
