SONG CALLED, "7:77 (I FOREVER LOVE YOU)"

about

I know, the title of the song is a strange one. I'll give you that. It goes along the lines of the number 7 being my favorite number, so here it is again in one of my songs. The idea of the song was to make up a time that doesn't exist (like The Beatles “Eight Days A Week”) and have it mean that the love this person has for another is eternal and can't be measured in normal time, hence the rest of the title of the song I FOREVER LOVE YOU. Neither “7:77” nor “forever” can truly be measured; at least that's the idea behind the song.
I recorded this song using a classical guitar my brother Jim gave me. I took my 2 track recorder (just before it disappeared forever in Never-Never Land) to my work at a place called South Transfer Station. It was a garbage and recycling dump. The walls were like pillars of concrete which gave off this great acoustical, natural echo of sound that I absolutely loved. I recorded two songs there and this was one of them. When I found the cassette with the original recording, it was in bad shape. There were miscues and missed notes, out of tune vocals in an area where I forgot how one of the bridges went, and so on and so forth. It took me nearly an hour to clean it up and another hour to fix the other issues. After overdubbing all the extra parts in my studio, I was pleasantly pleased with the outcome. I was able to preserve the main echo chamber like quality I had on the cassette, which included only the acoustic guitar and my lead vocal, and have the rest of the parts blend in with the original recording. It took some work, but I think it's now presentable. Ideally, I would have re-recorded the entire acoustic and lead vocal parts, but I also would have lost the natural feel of the song when I recorded it back in 1987-1988 or so.
This is song #291.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

It's 7:77, And I Wish You Were Here.
It's Been So Long Since I Saw You
Or Felt The Touch Of You Near.
I've Found Time And Realized
I'm The Only One To
Be In Love With You Girl.
I'm Still In Love With You,
And That Is The Truth.

Just Forgive Me One More Time,
And I Will Prove To You,
I Shall Treat You Fair And Kind;
I Will Always Be True. I Forever Love You.

It's 7:77, I'm All Alone Tonight.
You're In My Dreams, You're In My Heart.
To Me, You're Always Mine.
My Fantasies Bring Me Dreams
That Sparkle, Twinkle, And Shine.
Still I Say You'll Come Back
And Someday Again Be Mine,
But That's Not True. I Know You.

Just Forgive Me One More Time,
And I Will Prove To You,
I Shall Treat You Fair And Kind;
And I Will Always Be True,
I Forever Love You. I Forever Love You.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
