SIRENA CALLS MY NAME demo

from RAW SKELETONS (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

about

I wrote this song and made a demo of it back in the late 80's. It was a true demo in every sense of the word, since it was recorded for an engineering class with UW students. Some did a good job while others were kind of along for the ride. The several songs we recorded that day didn't turn out very well—lackluster at best (though some became presentable after I worked on it with the Audacity music editor software.) This recording, at least, gave me a basic idea of where I was going with it. Fast forward 24 years and you'll get RICE CRACKER PROJECT'S final version of this song. Their work on it made this throw-away song into a great performance. It's amazing what can happen if you get a song into the right hands and to people who want to put their imaginations and own spin on it. The version by RCP is “exactly” the way I envisioned it when I first wrote it. This demo version was the basis of that.
This is recording #561.

Recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle, WA.

lyrics

I See Your Loving Hands Through The Dessert Sands.
I Think I Know You. You Act So Kind And True.

Sirena Calls My Name. I Feel The Pain.
When She Calls My Name I Say, "I Love You!"

Love I See Is Blind. Love, I Never Find.
All I Dream Is You. What Am I To Do?

Sirena Calls My Name. I Feel The Pain.
When She Calls My Name I Say, "I Love You!"
(Solo)
Sirena Calls My Name. I Feel The Same.
When She Calls My Name I Say, "I Love You!"

Love I See Is Blind. Can't Make Up My Mind!
All I Feel Is You. What Am I To Do? Oo! Mm!

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
