SIRENA CALLS MY NAME

This is the 182nd song I wrote and it's about a young lady I fell deeply in love with during my teenage years. I didn't know it at the time, but she had suffered physical and sexual abuse as a child which complicated her transition into adulthood. I found her not only beautiful but quite brilliant. Her IQ was off the chart high, but because of her childhood and the scarred memories, she seemed to have become a more tragic figure. And of course, I lost her friendship due to my lack of understanding. We hooked up a couple times as adults, most recently on facebook, but that quickly went south as well, since I am still the same sarcastic artist and things haven't changed, and yet they've totally changed. 
I originally recorded a demo version of this at Audio Recording, Inc, but the quality was so bad that I never liked it. When the studio group I perform with (RCP) decided to do a version of this song, I started making plans on how it should sound. Certain effects I knew I wanted came to fruition in this new version, like using an e-bow for the guitar sounds during the leads and outro. Nick, the bassist, added a few rumbling sounds with the e-bow as well for the intro and outro. During the actual solo, I used my thumb and fingers instead of a pick to pluck the notes like I usually do, which gave it a different feel. Stephen put a great rhythm acoustic part to the song, almost giving it a country feel to a psychedelic tune. Original copyright 1989.
