about

This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen “Jolly Green Giant” of “Louie, Louie” fame, The Sonics “Psycho”, The Frantics “Werewolf”, and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape.
It was Wayde Brown (me) on drums, guitars, and lead vocal; Sean Crain on bass. This was a bit of a recording experiment. I had the guitars, the vocals, and the drums double tracked. It was a first and last time I tried recording in that manner at this studio. I also overdubbed the drums after everything else was put in, which is also a way I don't like to record. It was not a great recording, but it was an unusual one and was worth fixing up a little and keeping.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
This is the 25th song I wrote, so it's one of my earlier ones. This song also started out as a poem. The intro riff was written by my father. I wrote the rest of the song around that riff. I just threw some words together and out this came. It wasn't meant to be a brain teaser or anything, just a simple blues rock tune that one can have fun dancing to.

Recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle, WA.

lyrics

Shake It Up. Shake It Down.
Shake It Smooth, And Shake It All Around.
Now Shake It. Shake It All Night Long.
Shake It Over Here And Shake It Over There All Night Long.

Shake It Left. Shake It Right.
Shake It Home, And Shake It All Night.
Now Baby, Said Now Shake It Over There.
Shake It Over Here And Shake It Everywhere For Me. Ow!
(Solo)
Shake It Here. Shake It Now.
Shake It Slow Like A-You Know How.
Now Baby, I Said Now Baby.
Shake It Over Here And Shake It Over There For Me.
Shake It Over Here And Shake It Over There For Me.
Shake It Over Here And Shake It Over There For Me.

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
