about

The avant-garde song, “Scat Cats Scream.” This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton. It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape.
This was recorded in 1992 during the “Ka-Trina” sessions. I did another one like this, but it was much longer and it was before I knew how to perform the guitar very well. Plus, I had a few more effects for this recording than the one before. It's the last time I used the guitar in this fashion. After 26 years of playing the guitar, I am thinking about doing one more like this again, but it does get a bit tiring, especially now that I have equipment that can make a different sound for every second of the day.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.

This “tune” makes this the 426th one I wrote. It was just a shorter version of a song that I recorded a few years before called “Guitars' Throe.” Chicago's “Free Form Guitar” was the inspiration of this short tune as well.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
