REFLECTIONS OF MY MIND

from REFLECTIONS TO IMAGES (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

about

I co-wrote this song with my friend, Sean Crain. I think I wrote all the lyrics and he helped me with the progression. I remember imagining what I would be like when I turned 40, and this is what I saw. I wrote it when I was about 17 years old, and I didn't record this until I was 45, a good 5 ½ years beyond the projected age of what the song suggests. However, I can't say that I was too far off in my prediction. At the age of 40 is when things took a turn for the worse for me, becoming partially, permanently disabled and going through one hardship after another, which still continues to this day unfortunately. Part of me believes that if I didn't have this outlet of music and/or writing, I may not be here today.
This is song #210.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

The Days Are Empty And So Is My Time.
The Life I Lead, So Blind.
A Generation Begins To Grow.
Nothingness Is What I Know.

Forty Years And I Still Cry.
Time Has Passed Me By.
Still I Wonder If I'll Get Back Home,
'Cause I'm Here Alone.

All I Want Is All I Know.
All I Feel Is Winter's Cold.
All I See Is What I Find.
It's Held Inside Reflections Of My Mind.

The Lonesome Breeze I Have In My Head
Tells Me That I Am Dead.
But Who Is Death To Think It's Right
When You Stand Up And Fight?

All I Want Is All I Know.
All I Fear Is Winter's Cold.
All I See Is What I Find.
It's Held Inside Reflections Of My Mind.
(Solo)
I Wander And Roam To Places I Go.
The Old Folks Say Hello.
I Am Welcomed And Here I'll Stay.
Forever And Ever I'll Pray. Oo!

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
