about

One day, while I was petting the family cat, my girlfriend said, "Quit rearin' her up....she's rearin' up." Without thinking about it, I was petting the cat from head to tail, and when I got to the tail, she (the cat) would rear her butt way up in the air. It was kind of funny actually. That was the inspiration for this song.
I made this recording starting 8 in the morning. In this studio, 9 am is the earliest I'm supposed to start recordings due to noise in the neighborhood, etc. So, while I was laying down tracks, I was doing it very quietly. The volume on my amp was at 3, the guitar at 2. I played the notes on the bass gently and lightly tapped the drums, barely hitting the skins. The same goes for the vocals. I was barely singing it. Once I recorded everything, I compressed and boost the sound of everything and got this interesting feel I usually don't get, so I was quite happy with it. It's not how I generally record songs, but it worked for this one.
This is song #650.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

She's Rearin' Up Just Like A Pup.
You Just Can't Beat Incessant Heat.
She's Rearin' Up. She's Rearin' Up.

She Takes The Slack, Relax The Back.
She Can Soothe And Make It Smooth.
She's Rearin' Up. She's Rearin' Up. Ow!
(Solo)
She Licks My Face All Over The Place.
She Makes Me Laugh When I Give Her A Bath.
She Likes To Scratch, But I'm No Match.
Looks Like A Rat, But She's Just My Cat.

She's Rearin' Up. She's Tearin' Up.
She Likes To Play Every Day.
She's Rearin' Up. Mm, Yea, She's Rearin' Up. Wo!
(Solo)

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
