about

I like to call this my attempt at avant-garde rap—two styles of music that should never be mentioned in the same sentence. The song is obviously humorous to a certain extent, with me repeating the words KITTY and PUPPY DOG (and one other silly phrase which I won’t give away, but all of our dogs do it). I purposely didn’t try to keep them aligned perfectly within a time signature and just let it free flow; some of which I copy and pasted while others I repeated phrases longer. These noises/phrases/sayings were/are things I would say to my cats and dogs when playing with them. So these are kind of my private dog and cat songs melded into one silly recording. I think I just wanted to have a record of the things I used to vocally say to my favorite cat and dog, Little Bitty and Mischa, both who have passed away at this point in time, and both I miss deeply. I guess I just didn’t want to lose the silly things I used to say (or sing) to them. At the intro, I dedicated this song to Mischa, Midori, Thor, and Magnum, by calling them by their “other” pet names I have/had for them. You will also hear my cell phone ringing near the beginning and end, which was purely by accident. For the last ring you hear near the end, my cell phone was sitting on top of my printer when I received a message, and you can hear the phone ring, buzz, and then fall to the ground, making a huge THUD noise. I thought that was hilarious, so I kept that in. I also got lucky when I made this recording with my 3 dogs barking through-out. It's a nice little touch I get to keep as a remembrance.

This is song #550.

Recorded at MINE music Studio in Auburn, WA.

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
