PLEASE DON'T KILL THE PEOPLE

from I AM AM I (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

/

about

I won't elaborate what I feel the song is about and let the listener make up their own minds, but this tune was inspired by a poem I wrote beforehand with the same title. After I wrote the poem, I thought, “Hey, this title would make for a good song idea.” That's how this song came about. Musically, it's interesting to me, specifically that with each passing verse, a different harmony lead vocal was added.
This is song #319.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

Please Don't Kill The People.
They Are All We Have Left.
If You Take All Their Lives,
The Worst Goes With The Best.

Please Don't Kill The People.
When Push Comes To Shove,
Show Them That You Care.
Give Them All Your Love

Please Don't Kill The People.
They Have The World To Live For.
If A War Starts Today,
There Might Not Be Anymore.

Please Don't Kill The People.
It Is Their Only Home.
If You Kill The People,
We Will Exist Alone.

Please Don't Kill The People.
There Is Plenty Of Room
If You Kill The People,
What Is Earth To Do?
(Solo)
Please Don't Kill The People. Please Don't Kill The People.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
