about

Not to be confused with the other song I wrote called THE PEOPLE: (I just switched the words around for this song and called it PEOPLE (THE) as kind of a joke--but to also distinguish it from my other song). This is also one of those songs I enjoyed writing and recording since it's a bit on the strange and psychedelic side. Originally, during the solo, it was supposed to be an extra long silent break, but I decided to add some backwards guitars and a few other bits to make it more interesting.

This is song #214.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

PEOPLE ASK WHAT THEY CAN'T FIND,
LIKE FLOWING RIVERS OF AGING TIME.
THE RHYTHM OF SAND THAT BLOWS ON THE HILL
IS SILENT STILL.

PEOPLE TAKE WHAT OTHERS HAD.
GOOD AND EVIL MEANS THE SAME AS BAD.
CONTEMPLATE THE OTHER SIDE,
BEFORE YOU HIDE.

WHAT IS THE QUESTION I LEARNED TO SAY.
HOW IS THE QUESTION I'VE LEARNED TODAY.
WHY IS THE QUESTION I'VE LEARNED TO PAY
ON THIS FATEFUL DAY.
(SOLO)
PEOPLE LIVE BUT HAVE NO SOUL.
UNTIL THEY DIE, THEY DO NOT GO.
COMING OUT OF THE WORLD UNKNOWN,
THEY COULDN'T HAVE KNOWN.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
