I've had the “idea” of this song since the mid-80's. In 2016, I “hooked up” with a “rocker chick” (my girlfriend) and she inspired me to complete the tune (even though she couldn't stand me just singing OO BABY I LOVE YOU instead of saying it all, which would be OO, BABY I LOVE YOUR WAY.) This song probably qualifies as the fastest I ever wrote and recorded. I wrote it at 9:30 am and completed it by 9:40 am. Then I recorded and mixed it down by 11:30 am and was done. The song is actually me making fun of a couple songs I never cared very much for in the first place; mainly the song by Cheap Trick called, "I Want You To Want Me". I never could stand that song. (We all have songs we don't like.) But that one always got under my skin with its silly lyrics and how it was sung, like the guy was strung out on SpongeBob or something. But hey, we all have our own opinions. It was a hit song, so what do I know?
