about

I wrote most of this song nearly 30 years ago and just completed it in 2017. Not entirely sure what I was thinking about when writing it, but it appears I was playing around metaphorically once again. I kind of like the tune since it's a bit different.

This is song #311.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

YOU KEEP ME HANGIN' ONTO MY SOUL.
YOU WISH ME TO FEEL NO MORE.
I RATHER FEEL THE PAIN OF GOING CRAZY AND INSANE THAN TO DIE.
BUT YOU SAY, “NO HOPE. NO NOPE.”

YOU MAKE ME EAT MY WORDS
FROM EVERYTHING THAT YOU HEARD.
VERY SOON, I WON'T TRY, AND THEN I'LL KNOW WHY YOU DESPISE ME.
BUT YOU SAY, “NO HOPE. NO HOPE. NO HOPE. NO, NO, NO, NO.”

I FOUND THE TIME, I FOUND THE TIME, I FOUND THE TIME THAT WE LOST.
BUT YOU SAY, “NO HOPE. NO HOPE. NO HOPE.”

WHEN I ASKED YOU
IF LOVE IS TRUE,
YOU THEN TELL ME, “NOPE, IT WON'T BE!”
THEN WE SAY, “NO HOPE. NO HOPE. NO HOPE. NO, NO, NO, NO.
NO HOPE. NO HOPE. NO HOPE.”

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
