about

I had notes concerning this song but no old demo made, so I had to go by memory. I did have the lyrics written out and saved. The inspiration for this was a cross between Three Dog Night and Roy Orbison. The story of the song is quite self-explanatory.

This is song #637.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

WHAT'S YOUR NAME? ARE YOU ASHAMED
TO BE WITH ME? AM I TO BLAME?
IT'S FINE TO WISH YOU WERE MINE,
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD 'TIL THE END OF TIME.

WHERE ARE YOU WHEN I NEED YOU?
SERVING MEN TIME AND AGAIN?
I JUST CAN'T HELP KNOWING WHERE YOU'VE BEEN,
WITH ALL THOSE GUYS, TELLING YOUR LIES
RIGHT TO THEIR EYES.

I CAN'T BE WITHOUT YOU, BUT I DON'T WANNA BE IN THIS ABUSE.

ANOTHER DIME FOR ALL THOSE TIMES
THEY WISH TO SPEND, JUST TO PRETEND.
IT'S NOT ELATION OR EXHILARATION.
THIS SITUATION, AN INFATUATION OF FLIRTATION.

I DON'T WANNA BE IN THIS ABUSE,
BUT I CAN'T BE WITHOUT YOU.

WHAT'S YOUR NAME? ARE YOU ASHAMED
TO BE WITH ME? AM I TO BLAME?
THIS TIME, WISH YOU WERE MINE,
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD 'TIL THE END OF TIME.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
