about

I wrote this on 7-27-17 within an hour. I was trying something a bit different concerning the story. It came off okay but wish it was a bit clearer.

This is song #638.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

YOU LIKE MONOGRAM WEAR ON YOUR SILKY UNDERWEAR.
I CAUTION YOUR LIFESTYLE. IT'S NOT FOR THE TAME OR MILD.
YOU LOVE MOST EVERYTHING, FROM SHOES TO DIAMOND RINGS.
YOUR NAME MEANS TRUE DESIRE, INITIALS BURNING IN FIRE.

DON'T GO DOWN ON THE PAVEMENT.
THE CONCRETE MAY BE WET.
YOU STILL FALL DOWN ON YOUR HANDS,
SPELLING OUT YOUR MONOGRAM.

YOU FEEL JUST LIKE A CHILD, INNOCENT BUT VERY WILD,
TOUCHING THE WALK OF FAME, WRITING PART OF YOUR NAME.

DON'T WRITE DOWN YOUR INITIALS. YOU'RE NOT AN OFFICIAL.
YOU TOLD ME I DON'T UNDERSTAND. YOU'RE LEAVING YOUR MONOGRAM.

FOREVER, YOU LEFT YOUR MARK IN THE DAY AND IN THE DARK.
YOU MAY NEVER BE FAMOUS, BUT NOW, YOU'RE INFAMOUS.

DO GO DOWN ON THE PAVEMENT,
AND LEAVE YOUR MARK BEHIND.
JUST LIKE SIGNING A TELEGRAM,
MEMORIALIZED IN MONOGRAM.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
