about

The lyrics were written by a friend of a friend, Michelle Dutoit. She asked if I could write music to the lyrics she had written, and after some thought, this was the result. I don’t usually write songs this way, and the last time I did this, it was about 25 or so years ago. I find it difficult to be inspired by someone else’s idea, musically. Sometimes, the words make it easier, depending on the story, but it’s difficult to judge just what style to use to convey the meaning of the words in a way that would fit and be proper. After looking at these lyrics for a couple months, one day, the song just sort of hit me and I wrote it within a few minutes. When I got to the studio to record it, I finished off the pattern within a half hour and recorded it. I like the flow of the tune. It’s a bit different than what I usually write. For the mix, I took a version I had rendered as an MP3 and the “final” version with all overdubs that was on a WAV form, and blended them together. During the end solo, I panned from the middle speakers, then 80% to the sides; a simple technique, but a fun one.
This would be song #522.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

Lovers Entwined
Both Out Of Their Minds.
This Love, They Have Wrought,
Hoping They Aren’t Caught.

Two People Alone,
Walls Made Of Stone,
Finding Each Other.
Why Should They Bother?

What Would You Do If It Were You?
Explore All The Feelings Of Love That Is New.

Love That Means Nothing,
Love That Means Something,
If They Only Knew
What They Should Do. Wo!

Lovers Entwined.
Love That Is Blind,
Risking It All.
Caught In This Thrall.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
