about

I wrote this tune soon after breaking up with an ex-girlfriend of mine. Some of my exes were meant to be exes. But the way she and I broke up just didn't feel right, so I wrote this fairly generic blues tune. It was pretty much a true story, except I didn't go drinking in a bar since I was only 18 years old, but I was able to get into one, especially since I performed in a few of them by that time.

This is song #261.

Recorded in The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

I WAS STANDIN' ON THE CORNER THINKIN' OF YOU.
I WAS STANDIN' ON THE CORNER FEELIN' BLUE,
BUT I DIDN'T THINK THAT YOU WOULD LEAVE ME IN MISERY.

I WAS SITTIN' IN A BAR WAITIN' FOR TIME.
I WAS DRINKIN' IN A BAR PRETENDING I'M FINE,
BUT I WISH YOU DIDN'T GO 'CAUSE I LOVE YOU MORE AND SO, I'M ALONE.

I KNOW WHY YOU LEFT ME IN MISERY:
TO SHOW ME WHAT I COULDN'T SEE.
(SOLO)
I'M HURT. YOU'RE SAD. PLEASE COME BACK TO ME,
FOR I'VE HAD ENOUGH MISERY.

I WAS PRAYIN' IN A CHURCH FOR YOUR RETURN.
I WAS CRYIN' IN A CHURCH, NOW THAT I'VE LEARNED,
BUT YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY I'M IN A SEA OF MISERY,
OF MISERY, IN MISERY.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
