To be blatantly honest, I have avoided recording this song for quite awhile for only two reasons. One, and the most important, I couldn't play the drums to this song for the longest time. This style and beat is something that is foreign to me. To this day, I don't consider myself a drummer, and every time I try to tell a drummer what I'm looking for, I get something totally different and oddball. So, if you want it done right, you've got to do it yourself. But again, I had to get “good enough” to pull this off. Secondly, I've had many people tell me that this song is too “fluffy” for them. I've heard “other” non-flattering words used to describe this song as well, so my ego kind of put this song to the side. Even though this song has a somewhat happy feel to it, it does tell a somewhat sad story. But the last line of the song brings things back to a more stable place for possible future happiness. And at this time in my life, this song has come full circle and at the right time for me to tackle it.
