This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen “Jolly Green Giant” of “Louie, Louie” fame, The Sonics “Psycho”, The Frantics “Werewolf”, and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape.
This song features Wayde Brown (me) on backing vocals, tambourine, and guitars; Sean Crain on bass and lead vocals; and Bill Fletcher on drums. We had two versions of this song, so I combined the two to give it a fuller layer that was missing in the individual versions. This gave Sean the sound of double tracking on his vocals. He wasn't a lead singer but a fairly good backing singer. This was his first lead vocal performance. Sean liked the bass part I came up with so much, that he wanted it louder in the mix. Unfortunately, the other mix we had of this song was so over-driven by the bass, it was not usable. Hopefully, the Audacity program I used helped smooth out the mixes. I also added an extra backing vocal in certain places in my home studio.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
This is the 404th song on the list of written songs. Sean Crain wrote 95% of this tune. I think he wrote all the words except one or two little words I threw in, plus I helped arrange the music a little. I know he was a big Beatles fan too and think this was his homage to them.
