about

This is one of my earlier attempts at songwriting, specifically a love story. It didn't turn out very well, so it sat on a shelf for a few decades. When I decided to work on it, I just didn't feel inspired to re-write or complete it. A fellow songwriter/friend heard of my dilemma and asked if he could take a crack at writing some lyrics. What he sent back a couple weeks later had a better story outline, though it didn't fit the pattern of the melody. (He didn't have any idea what the song sounded like melodically.) I didn't want to taint him in any way when he was writing the lyrics. The only thing he had to go on was my original, uninspired lyrics. I took a few lines of what he wrote and fit them into the song, while also re-writing other lyrics to better flow with the entire song. Now, I'm somewhat pleased with the tune and am able to offer it publicly for all ears to hear.
This is song #54.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

I Met You On A Morning. I Fell For You Late That Night.
Adoringly Transforming, Becoming One With The Light.
We Made Love With Our Souls. Our Minds And Body Were Free.
My Heart, I Bared Once More. Baby, Did You See
That I Loved You?

It Was All About You. You Kept Your Love Guardedly.
Love, The Strongest Virtue And Erotically.
But It Came Crashing Down, Not So Easy To Hide.
You Were Engaged, I Found. I Kept My Rage Inside.
Still I Loved You!

I Have To Compensate For I've Got So Much Hate.
But It's Hard To Let Go For I Loved You So.
(Solo)
I Couldn't Walk Away Without Knowing Why.
Did You Really Love Me? Did You Even Try?
Letting Go Is So Hard. Loving You Was Easy.
Tormented And Scarred, This Love Was Real For Me.
That's Why I Loved You. I Loved You. I Loved You.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
