This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen “Jolly Green Giant” of “Louie, Louie” fame, The Sonics “Psycho”, The Frantics “Werewolf”, and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape.
This song features Wayde Brown (me) on guitars, lead and backing vocals, and drums; Sean Crain on bass and backing vocals. Usually, when one records without a drummer, you'd record the drum part first. In this case, Sean and I recorded the guitar, bass, and lead vocal at the same time, and then overdubbed the drums, which is a difficult task to keep in time with the rest of the instruments. This song was never finished and had a lead guitar part that had a mistake to it. With the Audacity program, I overdubbed a second layer of lead to help match the other lead guitar sound (double tracking the lead performance) and the song was missing the third backing vocal in the triad which I added at my home studio. So, now, this song is complete.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
This is the 171st song I wrote. I wrote this song within 5 minutes, which is probably one of the fastest I ever wrote an actual tune. I wanted to write a basic rock and roll song with backing vocals repeating the lead vocal. This song is about as basic as it gets. It's not my best effort, but I find the song fun and, at just over two minutes, not too long to get boring.
