about

When I found the demo of this song I did when I was 20 years old, I felt a bit apprehensive since the vocals were so high. 27 years later, I just felt age was a factor in reaching those notes, so I dropped it down one key, which still felt extremely high, but at least it was possible. Not sure what inspired this tune, but it seems to be your run of the mill early 60's style love ballad. I have a vague memory that the song LONG AS I CAN SEE THE LIGHT by CCR may have possibly inspired me to write this song.
This is song #266.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

I Don't Understand What I'm Goin' Through.
The Way It Seems, I'm Over You.
What Did I Do? I'm Just A Fool
In Love With You.

I Don't Understand What I Should Say.
I Made A Mistake, Now I'll Have To Pay.
I Cry To Sleep And At Night I Pray
That Someday You'll Come Back My Way.

Darlin', Sleep Away.
Tomorrow's Another Day.
And Tonight I Cry
For Our Love Has Died
(Solo)
The Night Has Passed And I'm Still Alone.
You Have Left Me And I Should Have Known.
But Still I Wonder If You'll Ever Come Home.
I Cried And I Tried All My Life, As I Wander And Roam.
I Still Love You.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
