about

This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen “Jolly Green Giant” of “Louie, Louie” fame, The Sonics “Psycho”, The Frantics “Werewolf”, and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape. We had only 5 minutes to record this song (live) before we had to leave the studio and we literally never practiced this song before the recording. I wrote out the notes real quick for my father who was playing bass and told the drummer that I’d signal him for breaks. Only Sean and I knew the pattern of the song. Since it wasn’t a song we took seriously, we decided that whatever came of this take will be the keeper take whether we liked it or not. It didn’t turn out too bad, but the recording was a mess. Since I considered the song a bit of a train wreck anyway, this worked for me.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
The players: Wayde Brown (me) on vocals and guitar, Sean Crain on guitar, Clint Brown (my father) on bass, and Bill Fletcher on drums.
This is the 346TH song written, according to my notes! Sean Crain and I wrote this song together. It’s the one and only time we tried to write heavy metal. Influences were AC/DC and Ozzy Osbourne.

lyrics

I Was Left All Alone And I Can’t Find My Way Back Home.
Let Me Tell This To You! I’m On My Own With Nothing To Do.
(Solo)
I’m On A Rush And No One’s There,
Goin’ Faster And I Don’t Know Where.
And Then I Saw As, I Surmise,
A Ray Of Sunlight With Hopeful Eyes.

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
