HEY, MY LITTLE BABY

from LADY LUCK (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

/

about

This is another song that I co-wrote with my dad. He originally wrote this song around the late 50’s with fellow guitarist, Jake Cordova, but he didn’t have the final words for the bridge, so in 1985, I wrote them. I recorded this with my band back in 1994, but my father never cared for that version. That version was a much harder rock version than this one. This version is a faithful copy of what my father envisioned for this song. I recorded and performed all the instruments at The CELL BLOCK Studio on July 31, 2012. Though this song has been recorded before, this newer and different version makes this song #512. A slight difference is the comma in the song title as well. The version recorded back in 1994 was entitled “HEY MY LITTLE BABY” while this newer one is, “HEY, MY LITTLE BABY”.

lyrics

Hey, My Little Baby! Hey, My Little Baby!
Hey, My Little Baby! Hey, My Little Baby!
Give Me Lovin’, Sweet, Sweet Lovin’,
Now Hey, My Little Baby!

To See You There Makes Me Feel All Right.
To See You There Makes Me Wanna Shout All Night—
I Said Now Hey, My Little Baby! Hey, My Little Baby!
Give Me Lovin’, Sweet, Sweet Lovin’,
Now Hey, My Little Baby! Ow!
(Solo)
I Love You Girl In So Many Ways.
To See You Here Makes Me Wanna Say:
Hey, My Little Baby! Hey, My Little Baby!
Give Me Lovin’, Sweet, Sweet Lovin’,
Now Hey, My Little Baby!
My Little Baby!
My Little Baby!

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
