about

I wrote this country song around 1990, kind of in the same vein as Hank Williams, Sr. I had a chance to record it in a studio way back when, but I felt Lionel Richie's song, with the same name, was still too popular to even bother. Of course, now that I've dug up this old fossil of a song from my files, Adele came out with her huge hit last year, again with the same title of HELLO. My song is a much simpler tune than the other hits from the past, but the story is pretty much the same idea as those.
This is song #443.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

I Saw You In A Church Just Yesterday.
It Seemed To Be Much Longer Than One Day.
My Heart You Took, And Then You Had To Go.
And I Just Didn't Know How To Say Hello.

I Passed You On The Street Again One Spring.
I Wanted You To Wear My Wedding Ring.
We'd Be Happy, That I Really Know.
But I Just Didn't Know How To Say Hello.

Hello, Hello, My Heart Is Singing To You.
Hello, Hello, My Heart Is Feeling Blue.
My Mind Loves You So And My Heart Won't Let You Go.
I Need To Let You Know. I Need To Say Hello.

I Found You In A Park Again One Day.
I Tried To Find The Words For Me To Say.
But Sunshine Turned To Rain And Then To Snow,
'Cause I Just Couldn't Say To You Hello.

Hello, Hello, My Heart Is Crying For You.
Hello, Hello, My Heart Is Sad And Blue.
My Mind Loves You So But My Heart Won't Let You Go.
I Need To Let You Know. I Need To Say Hello.

I Saw You In A Store The Other Day.
I Tried To Find Right Words For Me To Say.
But Sunshine Turned To Rain Again Once More.
I Just Couldn't Say To You Hello.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
