about

I wrote a dozen or so songs while in this down, and somewhat depressing mood years ago. This song is yet another one of those in the similar vein. This is one of the few songs I wrote using a picking style on the guitar. It's not a style I'm very experienced as a musician, even after 35 years of playing the guitar, but it was still fun trying and recording it. I remember being influenced by The Beatles song, “Julia.”

This is song #362.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

MY MEMORIES ARE HAUNTING ME,
AND I AM ON MY OWN.
AFRAID TO LIVE, AFRAID TO DIE,
AFRMY MEMORIES ARE HAUNTING ME,
AND I AM ON MY OWN.
AFRAID TO LIVE, AFRAID TO DIE,
AFRAID OF BEING ALONE.

WHAT CAN COME OF LONELINESS,
AND WHAT CAN COME OF PAIN?
I'LL TRY TO BE WHAT I CAN BE.
I'LL TRY NOT IN VAIN THIS TIME.

WHO CAN SAVE ME FROM DESTRUCTION?
AND WHO CAN SET ME FREE?
I TURN TO GOD, BUT ALL I HEAR
IS THAT MY PAST IS HAUNTING ME.

WHAT CAN COME OF LONELINESS,
AND WHAT CAN COME OF PAIN?
I'LL TRY TO BE WHAT I CAN BE.
I'LL TRY NOT IN VAIN AGAIN.

AND WHO CAN SAVE ME FROM DESTRUCTION?
AND WHO CAN SET ME FREE?
I TURN FOR HELP, BUT TRUTH IS GONE,
AND ALL I CAN SEE IS MY HAUNTING MEMORIES.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
