FINGER EXERCISE #1

This recording was done back in the late 80's onto a cassette tape with a 2-track recorder I had at home. It's absolutely nothing but one track of a guitar going up a scale of the neck, like any lead guitarist would do during a generic lead. Here's where I may have been a bit psychic. I saved this recording in hopes that technology would catch up to my idea since I wanted to take this recording, this little finger exercise, and duplicate it a dozen times or so, creating this odd sound effect. Since I didn't have a multi-track recorder, I just shelved it. Now, with the Audacity program sound editor, I copied and pasted the one track and duplicated it several times, changing the speed, pitch, and tempo, thus creating this effect like there's really more than what was performed. Thanks to technology, this silly little musical exercise is now complete.
I transferred the song from a maxell 60 USD-I cassette tape using the “Denon Precision Audio Component/Stereo Cassette Tape Deck (DRM-700) with Silent Mechanism/Dual Power Supply System 3 Head” onto the Audacity audio editor and recorder.
