EVERYDAY SOUND(S)

from MONOGRAM [Digitally Remastered] by The Santairs

/

about

This recording is one of a few dozen that I’ve done over the years, mostly when I was a teenager. You’ll hear sounds of me working out, starting a car, walking, shaving, brushing my teeth, getting dressed, playing a couple unusual instruments, throwing things, and using a hammer, and a bunch of different everyday sounds one may hear during a day. I also took the mono tape recorder to work with me and recorded some sounds there. I did this when I was about 18 or 19 years old and just wanted to see what kind of sounds I would capture during the day. I edited out all the talking I did, except one part where I was making percussive sounds with my mouth, which was more of a sound check before I got too far into the recording process. It’s a cheap and silly recording, but it’s part of my past that headed me towards making real music.

This is recording #372.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA. and various places in Washington state.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
