Back in the late 80's, my friend Sean Crain, stopped by and had the riffs to the beginning and ending of this song. Technically, it's a homage to the 60's and 70's classic rock music, and to such artists as Jimi Hendrix, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and so on. Sean just changed a few notes around, but the idea and sound is very similar to the classic rock genre. I had the lyrics and the “meat” part of the song which didn't have a home, so I combined what Sean had and what I had into this one song. Originally, I was going to jam out at the end for about 2 minutes, but at the time of the recording, I badly punctured my middle right finger a couple days prior and I couldn't perform much longer than what was recorded due to the pain. This is yet another song I performed all the instruments and self-engineered it. It also marks the first time I returned to the studio and made music in over 5 months. Since as far as I can remember, only one other time in my life did I walk away from music for a period of time, and that was due to a now ex-wife. I didn't perform music in the mid to late 90's because she didn't want me to. She felt threatened that too many girls were after me because of the music. (I wish!) I knew I couldn't stay away for too long. Baby steps!!!
