DUST AND SMOKE AND DEBRIS WITH CHERYL (Unusual Style or Take of Outtake)

from GUNK @ THE BOTTOM (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

about

This was recorded on a two track recorder back in 1988. It is a finished piece that I was planning on re-recording professionally but decided to use this particular take since it had some redeeming qualities. I used a very inexpensive no name classical guitar (many of us tell stories how we would used that guitar as an oar to row back to shore.) I got the inspiration for it based on several spaghetti western movies I was watching back then. The title of the song was made as a joke. A friend of mine at work noticed that I had written about a dozen songs with female names in them. I also told him I could write a song about anything with any title. So, he told me to write a song with this particular title. Of course, he probably didn’t think I would write an instrumental, which was kind of a cop out. But he thought it was funny after he heard how and what I did with the song.
This is song #305.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
