about

Engineer Kearney Barton of Audio Recording, Inc. took the original cassette tape I had and remixed it back in 1992. To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
The second band I ever performed with was called DEPARTURE. We played a few live gigs and recorded 5 songs on a 4 track recorder in a home studio. Only one song was an original and it was an instrumental. Each of us had to write and perform our own solo parts. I was the bass player for the group. The riff of the song isn’t really original, but it wasn’t meant to be anything except fun and to show off our solo abilities. This was recorded back sometime in 1985. We never had a title to this tune, so I just called it “The Theme.” After all these years, I’m altering the title slightly and calling it, “Departure’s Theme.”

The players are Wayde Brown (me) on bass, Kevin Glantz on guitar, Keith Norton on guitar, Loren Adams on keyboards and Phil Voight on drums. This would make song #407 on the songs that I wrote or helped write once I cataloged them.

Recorded at a friend’s home studio in Federal Way, WA. Mixed at MINE music Studio in Auburn, WA.

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
