about

(This song is version 1): I was inspired by John Lennon's (The Beatles), "I Am The Walrus" and "Strawberry Fields Forever" when I wrote this tune back around 1990. This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen "Jolly Green Giant" of "Louie, Louie" fame, The Sonics "Psycho", The Frantics "Werewolf", and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape. We had a fun time recording this song, adding a ton of special effects to the mix, from a cow mooing in the pasture, backwards voices and singing, chanting, backwards instrumentation, and so on. The basic recording only consists of one guitar, one lead vocal, one bass, and drums, performed live in 2 takes. There are two versions of this song. One has a more humorous overtone to it (this one) while the other version feels and sounds more "disturbing." I wrote it for a friend of my named Jennifer, who was into avant-garde art and wanted me to write an avant-garde tune that still had some cohesion to it. This is what I came up with. The words purposely have no story to it, but it seems to fit what I was trying to do. This is one of the few songs where I combined an actual song and converted it into a more abstract, avant-garde and psychedelic feel. You can hear The Beatles and some Pink Floyd influences in this song. To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism. Hope you enjoy it since it was a fun process to relive again.
The players were: Wayde Brown (me) on vocals and guitar, Sean Crain on bass, and Bill Fletcher on drums. This is the 86th song I wrote.

Recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle, WA.

lyrics

There Are Domestic People Who Watch Violence On T.V.
The Children All Sang With An Angry Storm.
Our Brains Are Melting From The Source Above.
The Peace Of Existence Will Start To Form.
Of All The Things That I See,
The Torture And The Poverty,
All Of Man's Humanity,
There's No More Left, Oh For Me.
The Screams Of Us Aching In Pain Of Religion;
The Dreams Of An Angel With Long Yellow Wings;
The Night Time Is Round And Kisses Its Way,
From Nightmares To Death Of All I Can See.
I Cry And I Cry And I Cry Some More.
The People Keep Living After They Have Been Warned.
My Head Is A Plastic With Streaks On The Side.
Oh Heaven Is Too Old To Save Me. Ow!
(Solo)
Revolting Love In A Rhapsody Way!
Your Salubrious Ways Gets Me Down.
They Wouldst Be So Joyful With You.
Conceptualize My Meanings Of Lies And Despair.
The Dead Of The Dead Of The Death Of My Dead;
The Meaning Of Life To Free Me Instead!
My Brain Has Split Open And Flew Away.
The Drug Of The Entity Has Taken My Mind.

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
