CHIBBY MY DOG--A COLLECTION OF tHIS SONG

from ANIMAL INSTINCTS [Digitally Remastered] by The Santairs

about

Sometime around 1988-1989, I wrote an instrumental for my first dog I ever had, Chibby. He never really lived a very good life and bit just about everyone that came in contact with him. He was my first true pet and I still remember him well to this day. In the late 80’s, I recorded an acoustic, rhythm part to the song onto a cassette tape using a two track stereo system. In Sept, 2013, I cleaned it up with the Audacity sound editor and recorded the rest of the instruments in the studio, playing both musician and engineer. It was a bit difficult overdubbing the parts since I didn’t use a metronome for the original guitar part which I decided to keep as the main rhythm track. The speed varied a bit, but I felt it was good enough since the “feel” was in the performance. So, this is my only tribute to a dog I didn’t care for too much (but a dog named Mischa would change all of that and my feelings towards dogs in general 20 years later.)

This is song #375.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
