‘BACK TO BASICS’ SESSION

from Once a BOmB a time (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

/

about

I found this recording I did with my friend and fellow musician/songwriter, Sean B. Crain. It was during the times we were learning songs for our 1st album, “Sleeping in Dreams.” (Circa 1988-1989) Originally, the sessions were called “Back to Basics” since all the songs featured only 2 guitars, bass, drums, and vocals. Only during the later sessions did we add a piano which Sean played. During one of our sessions, I pressed RECORD and recorded the entire session on one side of a tape, which only lasted about 30 minutes. I discarded most of it and saved only these little silly parts. It’s not exactly very interesting, but I wanted to keep a piece of it since they were really good memories. I only wished I had recorded more usable stuff, but this was all I pretty much had. It actually shows the more serious side of me and Sean’s rehearsals, (except the very beginning which I decided to make some kind of funny noise.) This is recording #538.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
