about

I came up with the title first, then wrote a song around it. I remember playing this at school one time and a teacher (whose name escapes me, but he wasn't one of mine) liked it and wanted to hear it with the bass part in it. So, my dad and I made a cheap and quick recording of it and gave it to him along with a few other songs I wrote. He said his favorite songs were IMAGES and this tune, ARTIFICIAL LOVE. He apparently liked the idea of the song in general and thought it was well done. Even though this song was a simple one to record and perform, it still gave me this inferiority complex of not wanting to do the song since I didn't think I could do justice to it. Now that I got older and un-wiser, I decided to finally record it.
This is song #63.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

I Wanted You For My Very Own
'Cause I've Always Been So All Alone.
But Your Love For Me Isn't Real.
Do You Know What You Do To Me? The Way I Feel?

Artificial Love Has Got Me Down.
Artificial Love Has Been All Around.

You Treated Me So Bad, What Did I Do?
All I Wanted Was Love, Just Me And You.
But The Feelings You Keep Hidden Inside;
Let It All Out. Don't Let It Hide!

Artificial Love Has Got Me Down.
Artificial Love Has Been All Around.
(Solo)
What Did I Say To Make You So Sad?
I Just Said What I Felt. I Didn't Think It Was Bad.
You Left My Heart Torn Within,
A Pain Too Big, Never Love Again.

Artificial Love Has Got Me Down.
Artificial Love Has Been All Around.
Artificial Love Has Got Me Down.
Artificial Love Has Been All Around.
Artificial Love Has Got Me Down.
Artificial Love Has Been All Around.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
