about

This is a bit of a strange song—at least in the aspect of recording it. I recorded the demo at a garbage dump sometime around 1988 or 89. The “echo” from that place inspired the idea of this song as far as the recording went. Not totally sure who or what the words were all about or what I was thinking, but it's self-explanatory as far as the story line goes. I find this tune mildly amusing and fun.

This is song #358.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

YOU WANT TO STAY WITH HIM,
THOUGH I TRIED TO PULL YOU APART.
WHO DO YOU LOVE?

AND I WISH YOU WERE WITH ME. AND I WISH YOU WERE HERE.
MY HEART IS EMPTY WHEN YOU'RE NOT AROUND. I CRY!

I AM HELPLESS FOR YOU; FOR YOUR LOVE.
GIVE ME SOME MORE TIME!

AND I WISH YOU WOULD LOVE ME. AND I WISH YOU WERE NEAR.
MY HEART IS HEAVY WHEN YOU'RE NOT AROUND.
MY TEARS ARE CRYING FOR YOU.

YOU GIVE ME HOPE. YOU GIVE ME LOVE,
AND THEN YOU TURN ME DOWN.
YOU GIVE ME STRENGTH. YOU GIVE ME JOY,
AND THEN YOU TURN AROUND.
ALL I WANT IS SOME TIME TO TALK
AND LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF OUR HEARTS.
(SOLO)
AND I WISH YOU WOULD LEAVE ME. AND I WISH TO BE ALONE.
IT'S BETTER THIS WAY AND I AM SORRY.
AND I WISH YOU WERE MINE.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
