A WIFE TO A WHORE

from EASY SUNSHINE (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

/

about

During a conversation with someone back in 1994, they said the words "She went from a wife to a whore" and I thought there was a song in that statement somewhere, so I wrote about it. It's about as simple as that. I no longer had my 2 track recorder, but I did have a cheap mono cassette recorder and I laid down a live acoustic and lead vocal performance. I decided it was good enough to use as the main template to lay down the rest of the tracks for a final performance. Usually I would just re-learn and redo the song completely, but the performance within that take back in 1994 was fairly polished and I wanted to work with that one.
This is song #441.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

I Never Will Be Fine Unless Again You're Mine.
Hoping For A Sign, Wanting You For All This Time.

I've Waited Much Too Long. What Did I Do Wrong?
Didn't I Belong? I Hope That It Won't Be Long. And I Say

Wouldn't It Be Right To Be With You All Night?
You're Such A Lovely Sight. Why Must We Always Fight? And I Cry!

I Followed You Home To Catch You Alone,
And Then To Understand,
Face To Face In A Warm Embrace With Another Man.

Waiting For A Day, Hoping I Can Say,
Crying And I Pray, My Pain Will Go Away, But It Won't.

You Cheated On The Floor, Turned Up The Raging War.
You Cheated On My Soul Just Like A Common Whore, And I Leave

A Wife To A Whore. A Wife To A Whore. (No More!)
A Wife To A Whore (Never More!) A Wife To A Whore.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
