about

This is the very first recording we did as a complete group called The Rice Cracker Project, and the only song we performed live in our own studio. (Overdubs were added at the end process which included hitting a stool with drum sticks.) We did 3 versions of this song and used take 2 as our main one, and combined parts of take 1 and 3 to make a completed version. The three of us wrote it as we were just making some noise, trying to see what we could write as a group. Now with our own studio and our own equipment and computer, we were able to start making more professional quality sound recordings than ever before. We just didn't have the experience on how to go about it, but we learned, collectively, along the way. The bass and drums were recorded at the same time, (with a little guitar) then the rest of the instruments were overdubbed. The studio we collectively work in is called The CELL BLOCK Studio. This song came to life just by jamming live together and pressing the record button on the audacity program on our computer. It sort of formed a life of its own quickly without much work.
The Players: Wayde Brown (lead guitars, drums, percussion, chimes, special effects), Stephen Prescott (lead guitar), Nick Wilcox (bass).
This is the 469th song.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
